General Questions about SNOW

Is the game called "SNOW The Game"?

No, the game is just called SNOW. Obviously snow.com was unavailable as a website, so we went with snowthegame.com. This does not mean that the name of the game is "SNOW The Game" - that's just silly.

What platforms is SNOW available on?

SNOW is currently available on PC through Steam Early Access. We hope to launch on  Playstation 4 in the 2nd half of 2016.

Is SNOW available on Mac OS X?

We hope to  eventually release SNOW on Mac but this depends on Crytek, the company who develops CRYENGINE, the game engine we use to make SNOW. Unfortunately we don’t have a release date for Mac support at this point.

When will I be able to place my own jumps in SNOW?

We are currently working on this feature and hope to share some news about it soon.

Will SNOW be released on Xbox One?

Right now we have an exclusivity deal with Sony. We will investigate a potential Xbox One release once the exclusivity period with Sony finishes in 2017.

When will SNOW be released on PS4?

We expect to release a Closed Beta in 2nd half of 2016 but we can’t share any specific release date at this point. We hope to have more news soon.

Technical Questions about SNOW

When I launch SNOW I see a black screen but can hear music, what's going on?

We are aware of an issue with certain graphics cards where the game does not boot in the proper resolution. If you hit ALT + ENTER this should fix the problem.

My game freezes when I try to launch a multiplayer session.

Just wait a few moments and you will eventually be joining the session. We are currently working on a fix to get you in the game instantly.

What system specs do I need to play SNOW?

The minimum recommended specs to run SNOW on your PC are:

Minimum:
OS: Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7, Windows 8, Ubuntu 14.04 or SteamOS
Processor: Intel Dual-Core 2GHz or AMD Dual-Core 2GHz

DirectX: Version 11

Hard Drive: 10 GB available space
Additional Notes: The system requirements are provided as a baseline for development, but are not guaranteed due to the game currently being in development. Requirements may be changed as the game progresses. Note: Integrated graphics cards are not supported.

How do I create a DxDiag Report?

Here are instructions on how to create a DxDiag Report.

Why do I get an error message saying that my graphics card is not supported?

Your computer is using an unsupported or integrated graphics card and we are no longer able to support this type of hardware. We are no longer able to support systems running on DirectX10 as CRYENGINE now only supports graphics cards using DirectX11.

When I launch SNOW I get an error message about missing files. What should I do?

There’s a simple fix to this issue. Right-click on the SNOW application in your Steam library and go to properties. Then select “Verify integrity of game cache”. After it has completed its scan and downloaded the missing files, launch SNOW.
