Is the game called "SNOW The Game"?
No, the game is just called SNOW. Obviously snow.com was unavailable as a website, so we went with snowthegame.com. This does not mean that the name of the game is "SNOW The Game" - that's just silly.
What platforms can I play SNOW on?
SNOW is currently available on PC through Steam Early Access. In the future we will be adding support for Mac, Linux, and PlayStation 4.
What are the minimum specs to run SNOW on my PC?
The minimum recommended specs to run SNOW on your PC are
- OS: Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7, Windows 8
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz, AMD Athlon 64 X2 2GHz or better (a multi-core processor is strongly recommended)
- Memory: 1 GB RAM
- Graphics: nVidia 8800GT 512MB RAM, ATI 3850HD 512MB RAM or better (SM 3.0 minimum)
- DirectX: Version 10
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Hard Drive: 5 GB available space
Why Steam Early Access?
Steam Early Access gives us the ability to release and distribute SNOW to our hardcore fans while the game is still in development. As we are a small, independent team we rely on our fans support and feedback to continue the game's development and improve its gameplay.
I thought SNOW was supposed to be Free-to-Play - why do I have to pay for it now?
SNOW will go F2P once we have developed the necessary back-end infrastructure to handle player accounts, items and microtransactions. This should happen when SNOW enters Closed Beta.
I bought the Starter Pack but want to upgrade, can I?
Yes! If you look on the SNOW Steam Store page you can see upgrade options listed as "Downloadable Content for this Game".
When will snowboarding be added?
Once we have finalized all of our physics and gameplay for skiing we will add snowboarding. We are building everything to be as dynamic and physics-driven as possible, and this takes time and patience.
