We are extremely excited to announce that SNOW will be entering Closed Beta this March!

On March 10th, the Closed Beta will be available to Early Access players only. On March 28th, the mountain will be open to everyone else who signs up for the Closed Beta.

steamearlyaccessplayersThose who have already joined SNOW’s Early Access on Steam don't need to sign up for the Closed Beta and will get automatic access more than two weeks before the rest of the players.  We wanted to make sure our Early Access backers are the first people to try out this next major update as a token of our appreciation for all the support they have shown us throughout the earliest stages of SNOW’s development.

newplayersWe will also reward all players who participate in the Closed Beta with an exclusive Sean Pettit Red Bull helmet. This is the actual custom helmet that freeskier Sean Pettit wears on the mountain and this is the only time to get it.  It won’t be available for purchase after the Closed Beta, so sign up to make sure you get yours!

SNOW’s Closed Beta is more than just another development milestone - it marks a critical point in SNOW's timeline and brings us one step closer to our ultimate goal: to build and publish the first free-to-play, open world, winter sports game. We couldn't be more excited! The Closed Beta will introduce a handful of new features that we’ve been hard at work on over the last few months (and in some cases, nearly a whole year!). We want to tell you all about them, but for now, here’s a brief overview:

SNOW will finally be free-to-play and players will be able to purchase their favorite gear and equipment through our brand new store. You’ll have tons of choice with nearly 700 items to choose from, many of them new items from this latest season.

We’ve completely overhauled the UI and HUD to allow for better menu navigation and a cleaner and more polished experience. We want to preserve the on-screen beauty of SNOW at all times and didn’t want a clunky HUD getting in the way of your line down the mountain!

New Sialia Areas

Since launching M4 we’ve been working on a bunch of new mountain areas to surprise you with in this Closed Beta. These new areas include a crashed cargo plane, a luxury mountain resort, an observatory and many more surprises you’ll undoubtedly run into while exploring the mountain.

Events & Leaderboards

One of the core game pillars of SNOW is the gameplay event system. We want you to test your skills against the best riders out there and get your name to the top of the leaderbords. In the Closed Beta you will have access to several events, including Slopestyle and Freeride, to get you in the competitive spirit.

We’ve implemented what we think is a really neat drone feature that allows players to fly around the mountain to scope out the biggest jumps, smoothest lines and fastest routes. With the drone, you can really get a sense of Sialia’s topography and own the mountain like never before.

Replay Manager

Here at Poppermost, we have had so much fun watching the gameplay videos that our users have uploaded to our SHARE page. We can’t believe the level of creativity and style! Now, we expect gameplay videos to be even more amazing since we have built a Replay Manager tool that enables players to rewatch their lines from various cinematic angles. We have a feeling a lot of these shots will make their way into some pretty awesome edits.

As we approach the Closed Beta launch we will go into lots more detail on these features, so stay tuned!

If you don't own SNOW, sign up here to participate to the Closed Beta starting on March 28 or join the Early Access and join the Closed Beta early!
